What belongs in an industrial solar project brief?
The inputs that help an EPC team distinguish a preliminary idea from an assessable project.

A desired kWp figure is useful context, but it is not a design brief on its own. Include the facility location, ownership or usage arrangements, working hours and plans for expansion. Explain whether the main goal is self-consumption, operational resilience or another clearly defined need.
Use consumption data at the right resolution
Monthly bills establish annual consumption and seasonal variation. Interval data can show how demand overlaps with solar production. A facility that closes on weekends has a different profile from a continuously operating cold store, even if annual totals are similar.
Make site constraints visible
Share roof plans or dimensions, recent photographs, known shading, roof condition and available electrical documentation. Final design still requires structural and electrical review. Indicate access restrictions, working-at-height arrangements and periods when installation would conflict with production.
Ask for an explicit scope
A comparable proposal should state the equipment, engineering deliverables, procurement responsibilities, installation works, commissioning, exclusions and handover documents. Clarify who manages applications and approvals. A schedule should identify dependencies rather than imply that every step is controlled by the contractor.
